Is there any advantage in setting you the ZW-L Legacy transformer as TR or ENG?  Currently I have mine programed as TR and it is working fine. I address my four tracks as TR 22, 23 , 24 and 25.  Is there any advantage to programing it so the tracks can be addressed as ENG on the legacy remote?  Do I gain any functionality, of it is only so the transformer can be identified on the Legacy remote screen?

Personally I found that using the ENG setting, my tracks would ramp up much slower causing many locomotives to come up in conventional or they would come up with really odd sound issues such as static and I had erratic operation from Cab2 controlling them.  I went though all the settings including setting momentum to low which should ramp the voltage up instantly.

When in TR mode it would work as expected.  When I asked Lionel about it they said use TR with no explanation why ENG wasn't working as expected.  Apparently this is not a common issue as I know others do not have this problem.  I tried some suggestions by Jon Z without much success.  I now use it set as TR.

Thanks for the head's up on that Marty.  I had a ZW-C for years that never had any issue when powered up at the same time as my command base, even though some have posted here on the forum of having to be quite deliberate with their power-up sequence and having the command base be first in line.

We just replaced it with a ZW-L but I haven't really used it yet. Will see if I get the same issue when using ENG.
