It's #SwitcherSaturday time!!!!

Lots of us out there love switchers (shifters, docksiders, yard goats, critters, etc.), so lets keep #SwitcherSaturday (a.k.a. SWSAT) rolling!

If you missed last week's SWSAT you should really go take a look, it was a ton of fun!

Happy Switcher Saturday everyone!

My contribution is sort of "Life imitating Art" or something along those lines. I had my picture picked out before Rich started this thread as I thought it looked similar to what some others have posted here. Little did I know it would look similar to Rich's post today (of his K-Line A5, his industrial background and tracks in foreground) and no collusion was involved beforehand.

So, here is Pennsy A5s #1289 imitating Rich's layout. My picture is from circa 1940's...#1289 was built by Juniata in 1916 and sold/scrapped in December 1949.

@mike.caruso - really nice looking pair of switchers you have there Mike!

@PRR8976 - Hey Tom, great minds think alike!

@Mike CT - it must be National A5 Day!  I love that Weaver model you have!

I'm heading out for the day now, hope you all have a good day.

Best...Rich

p.s.  I'm heading to Chicago tomorrow for work and I have all day tomorrow to goof off around the city, I was thinking of stopping by Union Station and perhaps the Museum of Science and Industry, any other train related ideas you guys might have would be welcome!  I arrive pretty early in the day and I might see the Cubs/Yankees game in the evening, so from around 11am-7pm I'm on my own and planning on walking around, so please let me know if you all have ideas.

wow! 16 replies by 9am, how we have grown!

Rich here is a sister to the 1312...

and this week a new project arrived.

a Craigslist find. It's missing the steam chest (replacement is on the way),and front coupler, and the motor is gutted. But that is just fine. It'll be getting a heart transplant anyway, I haven't had much of a chance to tear into it yet, but a quick look showed me this...a 1615 that was repainted, both markers are in place (amazing!),one red one green, the cab roof is unbent (sweet!), and it has a hole for a bell that my other 1615 doesn't. Comparing it to my 1622, the hole for the bell is a hair off center of the mold line, so was this a field modification? probably but I was going to add a bell anyway.

plans are to make this look more like a B6 that it was patterned after.

Yay! SWSat is on!

Great going so far today guys! Some really outstanding stuff.

. Raritanriverrailfan4 that CNJ 1000 is from K-line.

This week I'm posting a few images of the Rhode Island based Warwick Railway. A lot of the ROW is now a Bike path. Years ago in collage I would ride the path to a comicbook shop and since today is "Free Comicbook day" at comic shops I decided to post pics of some of the switchers on that line.

The 104 was pretty interesting looking. It was a 50 ton center cab, side rod Atlas. Doing any research on Atlas Locomotives is as you can imagine pretty tricky what with the Atlas Manufacture of hobby engines.

Have a great weekend and keep them coming.
