Did anyone have a chance to try their hand switching cars on the switching layout in the Black Hall? I always wondered how enjoyable it was to operate one of these layout, well now I know. To simulate real railroad operations and problems this small layout really does the job. I hope some off you guys got the opportunity to try it.

Chris, I believe it was the Lower Suesquhana Valley Railroad club. A 2 rail scale club.
Sorry I missed seeing that one. Don't know how I missed it, but I did. Switching layouts can be a lot of fun. The last one I tried my hand at was at an NMRA National Convention many years ago--Eugene, Oregon, or Winnipeg, Manitoba, as I recall.
Did they use a Time-saver or another design?
I beleave it was the Timesaver design. The operator in charge said it came from HO.
We (the Lower Susquehanna Group) did have a fastrack-based time saver layout in the White Hall. I believe the initial poster was referring to the Central Ohio 2 Rail O Scale Engineers layout in the Black Hall. While I am proud of what we did, their's was much more realistic.
Sorry about that. I confused the two groups. Both switching layouts were fun to operate and gave a good examples of interesting layouts in a small space.
