I just watched the TM video "Lionel Nation 3" (DVR'd from RFD TV). TW Design is the company that built the huge Lionel display layout many folks have seen at York. Does anyone know their method they employ to make the nice rock scenery?

I saw the same program. It looks to be mostly Styrofoam carved by a very talented artist!

They did a seminar at the LCCA convention in Dallas last summer. A buddy went to the class.. he said after the foam work they use some type of what they call mud to harden the foam. They buy their foam in bulk locally and it can come in like six inch wide sheets. If you call them they will tell you where they buy the foam.
I saw a video where Roger used a pencil to carve the foam to the desired shape and then sculpted and painted.
