I currently have a Lionel Legacy Pere Marquette 2-8-4 Berkshire 1225 (6-11146) and learned that with my current setup I could run 2 engines as tandem. Yes never knew that as I only set up my train at the end of the year for holidays. I was wondering if anyone has a good suggestion on what other steam engine would pair well with the engine I have currently.

On one hand, run whatever else strikes your fancy. I've regularly run a NYC Niagara doubleheaded with NKP 765 because I feel like it and the rules are made up and don't matter.
However, 1225 and 765 have run together for excursions so you could look for one of those or any of the Nickel Plate Berkshires for a running mate. They and the Pere Marquette Berks have similar looks.
Thanks for the response. I didnt know that and I like that idea, although I guess I was thinking of having something that wasn't so similar to the one engine that I already have. It would need to do then same radius, although I think my track is setup for 60" radius so as long as it can do that it is ok. I dont have a train shop close by that stocks any of the legacy steam engines so that is why I am asking. Just was thinking something with a cool look to it and at least the same size or around that as the Berk. I dont know what Lionel has had through the years and wanted to ask others.
Are there any larger ones, more wheels, that can handle the O60 track?
If you want, how about adding a diesel like they do for excursion trains. When my family and I rode the NKP 765 a few summers ago, a METRA diesel was tacked on the rear to supply HEP for the coaches. The 765 did all the pulling, the diesel provided electricity and was backup in case of a problem.
Just make sure the other engine is also Legacy. Most TMCC engines have a different type of speed control if any and won't stay at the same speed as your Berkshire.

As usual Norton's absolutely right (and he beat me to it - lol). The literature that came with my Lionel operating components clearly states NOT to mix TMCC with LEGACY and vice-versa. Another of Lionel's Golden Rules.
Have fun, enjoy your trains, and keep safe during these difficult pandemic times!
If it were me. I'd hunt for one of the Legacy PM 1223 Berks. Then your double heading the same road name.
But.....that's just me. YOU can do whatever YOU want.
I doublehead most steamers I own, although some do look better paired than others including two Legacy Erie Berks - it is an awesome show and auditory experience - essentially stereo-like sound with two speakers in each tender.
The Russian Decapod seems to work well with an 0-6-0 Conventional.
Two 0-6-0's may be, one of the most trouble free MTH offerings. IMO.
