I got an MTH PRR G5s (20-3382-1) from PW TRAINS yesterday. PS2, 3 volt, ten pin wireless drawbar

Unfortunately, it has a problem.

It took me 3 tries to get it into my remote on my test track. After I got it in the remote, it seemed OK. But when I put it on the layout, I got CHECK TRACK - ENGINE NOT ON TRACK.

I deleted it, added it back in on the test track and started it up. I shut it down and cut power. I applied power, pressed START and once again, I got CHECK TRACK - ENGINE NOT ON TRACK. I tried this a few times. Also tried factory reset. Also tried to run it in conventional with no luck.

Seems like whenever power is turned off, the engine has to be deleted and added back into the remote when you want to use it again.

The swivel connector on the tender frame seems to have a lot of play (much more than on a few PS3 locos I checked). The cab and tender drawbar plugs are both tight.

Paul suggested I charge the battery, but that didn’t help. After a 45 minute charge the only change was that battery status went from Hi to OK.

I’m thinking about returning it, but first, I want to see if anyone at the OGR forum has a solution.
