Siggy, Short answer is yes. I agree on a 2226W in runnable condition being hard to find. Don't give up looking. I have a friend who seems to able to find estates clearing out houses and old trains are among the treasures he gets. There's a lot of broken and smashed stuff, probably a 70% junk to 30% ok stuff mix. I've managed to gather enough parts over the years to cobble together at least 2 tenders that are presentable and have the whistle function, while getting away from the box couplers that these tenders originally had. I enjoy making something out of nothing and the 2 tenders I made up for my pre-war engines were a fun build. Not to mention that now they can pull cars with the newer knuckle couplers. If and when I find a decent 2226W, I'll grab it, but so far, no luck.
