Not to ruin your soldering fun, but you might like this method for your Atlas O track?

Ingeniero No1 had a great idea here, I used it for powering my Atlas O track, works great and is very easy. Very easy to make changes too.
Jim is a real craftsman, I have been buying his "how to" products for years. I would never try most of them but it sure is fun seeing how complex things are done. As for your track Charlie, I think that is probably the best way to wire them. No need to have a lot of ugly solder joints on the outside rails. Also you don't have to scrape the black off of the center rails. Have Fun!
