Today I received my Legacy 990 controller, that I purchased new on January 14, 2008, back from Lionel service.
I emailed Lionel and was quickly sent an RO in connection with the well known charging issue. The unit was otherwise working perfectly.
The technician noted: "charging upgrade; replaced bad component; updated software to v1.60; tested range, serial, and charging circuit"
Amazing service for a 9+ year old device!
