I received Mr. Muffin's e-mail announcing the Lionel Acela. Mr M, you brought me some much-needed humor. The accompanying material described this as a diesel, featuring a fuel tank and refueling sounds. I rode the Acela Express bi-monthly for 6 years between Washington and Boston. Never did I observe diesel fuel being added to a tank. The ones I rode were "fueled" by a pantograph that I thought carried electricity from an overhead catenary. Maybe the Acelas Amtrak runs on Lionel Lines are diesel, and use an overhead pipeline to furnish diesel fuel. Amtrak paid much more that Two Thousand dollars for Acelas and for the additional price didn't get diesel engines or fuel tanks. Poor procurement pracrice.
Cam someone out there in Forumland explain to me what is an "end-business car." All I remember is Business class and first class cars.
Many thanks for the uplift, Mr. M, and regards to the other pastries
