I decided to see today what the real train was all about but i found very little info aside from a very outdated website that hasn't been updated since 1999 and a very short article from progressive railroading in 2001 over 20 years ago

my question is does BNSF still run that service or has it been discontinued?  I would like to learn more about the real train.

BNSF no longer runs RoadRailer equipment.  I had to get some training to supervise crews on Road Railer trains, for the times when things are not normal.  If everything was operating as intended, then it was just another day at work for the on-board crew.  But if a car had to be set out for some reason, the process was a lot different than setting out a conventional freight car.  Likewise, if there was any unusual event regarding the air brakes, well, that was different too.

It's always good to have imaginative thinking on the railroad, and this was a successful idea in some ways, but it needed to be kept moving for dedicated customers, rather than being yarded and waiting for some traffic to develop.
