Success... the look, the feel, the "click" when something just works, that's the attraction for me, re: O gauge model trains. I've found that some things, i.e. certain nicely detailed locomotives, just have what I'm looking for...

I was working with a good group, on 3 rails, earlier this afternoon; and I noticed that one particular unit had the look that stood out, that matched my taste buds, considerably more than the others.

In this particular instance, the "clicker" was a MTH Premier CP AC4400CW, wearing the 2 flags livery. I'm a faceshot man, and this CP unit has the look that clicks, for me.

It seems, sometimes, low mounted number boards, a low mounted headlight, on the short hood; and, a standout paint job, that can"click"/work for me.

I never see much posted about GE's AC4400CW models; if you like GE's AC EMD killer, then you might want to take a look at MTH's Premier 6 axle AC kings. I've got 4 of them - BNSF, CP 2 flags, UP(with the grey body, that was formerly SP) and CP with the golden "beaver" shield.

I've got a lot that "click" for me... what works for you?

I'd have to say my two favorite O gauge "clickers" are the Lionel 736 Berkshire and Santa Fe warbonnet F units in any number issue since the 2343. I also like "face shots" and both these engines do it for me: the center-mount headlight and high-set markers on the Berk and the beautiful red and yellow noses of the F's.

Jerry,

It was an F unit(I didn't know the differences between them, back in 2004); but, I knew the face and that's what I first longed for. I remembered my older brothers double A F set, back from the late 1950's.

My CP F7 ABA set is one of my most photogenic models. It's hard to beat the face of a good F unit.

I haven't done steam, besides Lionel traditional equipment; but, there are some steam locomotives that really appeal to me. Maybe?

So far, I like your taste in locomotives, lads.

As much as I prefer steam, the GG1 has a sleek look of a predator.  And the matching ends.  Whether in scale or the 16 inch version.  Dressed in several colors and striped options.

I remember them rumbling into Wilmington De station like giant snakes.  Wow... what power.  Sparks popping off the overheads.  And it picked up speed so effortlessly.

They're also sleeker and sexier than the simple round nosed diesels.  I mean what a shape.  GG1... #1

Hello guys and gals.....

I have mult-clickers on one type of steam engine that is the S.F.#5011 class 2-10-4.  Its the sport style cab, drivers, boiler front, bell and rear 4 wheel trailing truck.  For the tender its the 8 wheel buckeye trucks and large reg. body.  Last thing is the large "5011" and "Santa Fe" lettering.  Just perfect !  The Sunset 3rd makes the perfect one.

Senor Muffin's clicks, click for me, too.

I have a MTH Premier BN U30C(wearing the cascade green, black and white livery) that's a superb clicker; it has some of the nicest, crispest, molded-in venting/filters I've seen.

I've got a great looking Lackawanna Train Master(one of the best new models from MTH's Premier line) that's set up to run long hood forward; I like the look of H24-66's running short hood forward, even better.
