Check out this skit on the The Late Late Show with James Corden with some Trains and Jamie Dornan Fifty Shades of Gray. Whether you feel this is funny or insulting, it will definitely bring attention to our hobby.

That was wonderful!!! There's lots of cool stuff on the shelves and in the cases when you look closely.
Still laughing!!!
Now I know why you guys are so crazy about smoke units.

It was funny....and though I have not seen the film....I think it makes more sense!!!
BTW.....this week on the show 'Kevin can wait' Uncle Kyle was revealed to be a model railroader too. He's dating a wild girl that always want to party....tells Kevin he will stop dating her because 'I have my model railroad to run and I just ordered some mountains and want to be alive when they come'.
Kevin James had a lot of model trains in his other show 'King of Queens' too.......who's the model railroader??
Very clever and funny satire!
Sort of entertaining, but sort of twisted as well.
I think that might have been a Lionel crossing gate on the G gauge layout near the end of the layout scene though (if not, it sure looked like one).

That is FUN-ny!!!!!!!!! Thanks!
Corden is irreverent - but brilliant.
OFF THE CHARTS FUNNY!!!!
He picked up a..."Hornby 4-6-2"? I could have sworn it was neither...must be my eyes.
Never saw the movie or read the book (again, I always figured it was about NYC diesel paint schemes), but this was, as usual, more insulting than funny. Partly because I don't like Corden.

I'll go as far as 'funny' and 'least offensive late night TV show host'.

Started off moderately humorously; then, it went downhill. Fast. And it did not need to: it could have remained moderately humorous, but it seems that moderately humorous is not satisfying. It is necessary to descend to nauseating.
"Insulting" describes it pretty well.
Give me Joe McDoakes, please.
That funny right there. Trains coming out of the basement
