John, Where can I find mini/micro wire installed connectors? Upgrading a steamer & I need an 8pin conn between loco&tender. I got one years ago for another upgrade but don't remember where it came from. DUH!!!, didn't keep a record. Any help would be appreciated. Tom

I picked up a micro connector with wires from Boxcar Bill.
Here's BOXCAR BILLS Web site.

I have talked to Boxcar bill, (super person), and the largest mini he has is 6pin. I need an 8pin. If I can't find one I will have to revise the install of the cruise commander, rail sounds, Fan smoke/w chuff, smoke on/off, magnetic trigger & program/run switches. The boards are all in the tender. The tender does have a single pick-up but I think a duel pick-up would be more reliable so using ones from loco. May have to use the single tender pick-up to get this done. This is not a high dollar steamer and I don't think the trucks are replaceable w/ new pick-up trucks. Tom
You could try Lionel.com and search the parts area for a 8 pin connector. The parts list should have pictures. So you can see if it's a match.
I did a search for "8-pos" and found this...but a lot of the Lionel part connectors are not populated fully...
This one has 7 wires 6201521326
You can also search for "harness" or "tether"
Here is a tether one, but doesn't look like 8 wires 6201521325
Might try for more positions.
Old K-line harness where good for the 8 pins. Or you can go with an MTH 10 pin, if you have room for the PCB at the back of the engine. Normally if it had a tether before there is room. G

G, No room at the back of loco and no tether. Am going to have to revise the install altogether since I would like to have the sync. chuff. The loco is a Lionel-6-31953 conventional. No room @ all in loco because of fan/smoke(610-8057-200) unit install. Will chk. on the MTH 10pin.
THANKS GUYS FOR ALL THE INFO. Will keep you informed of progress. Tom
I use the 10 pin MTH connectors for many of my upgrades.
For really tiny cables, I have used the Miniatronics connector kits, my K-Line Porter TMCC Conversion used them.

John, Thank you very much for the info & pics of the conversion you did. Helps me out a lot. I was looking for those exact tethers from Miniatronics. I was spelling it wrong is why I couldn't find them. Now back to the upgrade!!! LOVE THIS FORUM!!!! Tom
