Sounds like an ad for bran muffins, doesn't it?

This week, we leased a new space on the other side of the Monon Trail in Carmel, IN. We are just north of Indianapolis.

With over 5000 square feet, we will not only have room for a larger layout, but also room to conduct workshops on layout construction and scenery; show a couple of smaller layouts for guest operation; and a bigger kitchen. One needs snacks!

We are planning a train shelf wall such that we can display all of our trains.

We take the space around October 1st.

Forumites with a hankering to do some layout construction are welcome to lend a hand. Pick a weekend after York and before Christmas and come to Carmel!

This being our FOURTH layout move and expansion, I think it will be the best.

Didn't you have layout building parties for your current space?  As I recall, it sounded like they were a lot of fun for everyone.  Are you going to be able to salvage much of the current layout?  Do you have a new track plan in mind?  Layout-wise, what do you want to do the same and what are you hoping to do differently?

Congratulations Steve, sounds like a wonderful opportunity to build your "ultimate layout". Based on your past layouts, this is going to be "top shelf".

I wished you lived closer, we would love to help. However we have a wonderful Forum train buddy near Indianapolis that we would like to visit in the future.

Good luck with this project.

We did an around the wall layout at our current place. We like it very much, but we are really constrained on display space. This one will be more of an island design, with wider curves. Still three levels, maybe four. Lots of bridges. There are lots of sections we will be able to use. Thanks for your kind words.
