A few weeks ago, we were visiting the retail shop of a friend. He had a customer in his store at the time and he introduced me to him as the "train guy". This gentleman asked me if I knew another train buff friend of his by the name of Richard Kuhn. He was very surprised when I told him yes, casually, as I had met him several times while attending the York Meet. I stayed at the same hotel/resort that he uses at York. He told us some great stories about his relationship with Mr. Kuhn. My friend told him that I have a layout and this gentleman asked if he could come for a visit to the layout as he loves trains. I replied, sure, when we finish the renovation project we were then working on.

Last evening I received a call from this gentleman who asked how we were doing on the renovation project. I told him we were done with it and he asked if it would be possible to visit the layout. He went on to say that his two great grandchildren who are very anxious to see it. So today great granddad, his granddaughter, her husband, and the two great grandchildren came to visit. I don't have to say anymore, the pictures show how much these well behaved kids enjoyed their visit.

Hi Eddie:

Not really, I have been very busy with a client project and working on the renovation for the layout. I do hope to see you soon. We have been thinking about a summer outing for the New England Forum members and for those who can make it outside of New England. Just working on a date now. You know first hand how beautiful Maine is in the summer.

Thanks Joe, Charlie, Mike, Eddie, Alex, Joe & Andy for your compliments. It was a pleasure to host this family. Whenever possible, we do our best to promote O-Gauge trains among our youth. The boy's Dad was talking about building an O-Gauge layout for his boys. He loved the size of the trains which he felt had great play value.

I offered to give him whatever assistance I could in building his railroad. We live in a rural area and as it turns out, this family is very close by to us. I hope he follows through as the kids did not want to leave.
