The Big Train Show came to Ontario, CA last weekend. While the thrust of the show is around G gauge, it is open to all. One O gauge seller did quite well. As we have the past couple of years, TTOS Southern Pacific Division set up a bunch of small layouts. We operated plenty of tin. Also over on the TTOS SW layout, Larry Pearson was running a long string of Lionel tin tank cars pulled by a Lionel 1666. A few guys from the LA Live Steamers had a fabulous multi level Stg Gauge layout. Plenty of tinplate to see.

That is what we call our meet llop. Just track thrown down on some tables. Quick and easy. Normally we run O & S, but sometimes add in other gauges. I hope we do more with standard gauge in the future. It seemed very popular.

I picked that set up a couple of weeks ago, very nice condition. Did a little cleaning and oiling and the 1681 Hudson runs fabulous as long as I lock the reverse unit in forward. It ran flawlessly for 4-5 hours during the show. I have a similar set not quite as nice, but the Hudson has unresolved motor issues. When this beauty came along I pounced on it. Was not cheap, but worth every penny.
My guess is 1936-37.
