The TIU is Rev L.  Have only used it on temporary layouts in the past.  Also only used channel 1 fixed or variable each time.  Always powered by Lionel 180 brick and an MTH banana plug cable.

I am now able to install it on my new long term layout and only can use fixed #1.  Lights do not come on in TIU if I power through the input of any other channel.  Researched the forum and checked the nuts on the inside of the terminal posts and replaced all the breakers with no change.  I looked through Barry’s book and was unable to find any settings on the remote that could cause this.

Any suggestions for things I should check to diagnose this issue?  Hate to send it out to get it repaired and find out it was something simple as a missed setting or basic repair I could do myself.

If I am understanding what you are doing...

You must power the TIU electronics through "Fixed 1" input or AUX Power in.  This is how the internal electronics are powered.  Without power on Fixed 1 or the Aux power in the TIU will not function.  As long as there is power on Fixed 1 input or the AUX Power in, all the channels should work.

Page 19 of the DCS Companion 3rd Edition cover this.
