I just bought a DCS system for my sons O scale trains for Christmas. Unfortunatley my ac transformers are in another home 3 hrs away and I won't be able to access them before Christmas. I have a Lionel Type 4060 Large scale DC trasformer that has AC Accessory access ports rated 7-19 VAC. Can I temporarily run a loop of AC O scale track with that or will I blow up my DCS Engine. Help.

I wouldn't use any transformer with out a 10 amp 32volt fast blow fuse in line from the transformer to the tiu input (series) . Yep between the power supply and tiu input, not track side.
Gregg is right, Fast acting fuse and set it for 19VAC, that way you should get minimum waveform distortion. Not that new engines care so much, the old PS1 engines cared tho...
