Have a Lionel TMCC controlled Berkshire, all settings are correct, after locomotive starts up and advance the throttle engine does not move, as I advance the throttle futher the locomotive takes off at the higher throttle setting. Seems to run as it should at higher throttle settings , so when the throttle is decreased the engine stops. I have no control over the low speed range . Any suggestions.

Suggest you provide the catalog number so everyone can determine the vintage of the loco. Some vintages had different quirks than other vintages.
Sounds like you have the Odyssey cruise turned off. Look around for a cruise switch on the locomotive and make sure it's on.
Also, have you got the Owner's Manual for this Berk and, if so, have you read it? If not, if you know the product number for this engine you could always go onto Lionel's website and, under 'Lionel Support', call it up there.
Good Luck in resolving the problem!
Lionel 6-38051, the odyessy switch is in the ON position. I have not tried to see if the switch was installed backwards . Could there be an antenna issue?
Look at obvious issues first, start simple and progress to the more complex,…..how long has the locomotive sat?…dirty wheels, pickups, etc.??….traction tires half hanging off, hung up on things they shouldn’t be??…..tires rubbing hanging up on brake arms?…have you done a basic lube recently?…..eliminate the easy stuff first,…

I just went down to layout , selected odyessy switch to the off position, Locomotive is running as it should in all speed ranges, all TMCC functions working normal. Go Figure. Glad it was something simple.
Thank you everyone for the advice, this was a first for me , I guess I will have to go in and turn that odyessy switch around at some point.
Sounds good, that's not the first time this has happened.
Or if it’s running good, just jot down in your owners manual Oddesy off is on and vise versa,….if it’s working, I’m not sure I’d worry about the switch itself until I needed to go inside for some heavier maintenance or repair,……then address the switch issue,…

Lionel switch markings can be confusing. If you think is reads Odyssey ON it actually reads No Odyssey. Odyssey on is the other way where is just says Odyssey or an abbreviation. Same with smoke. You have smoke and No Smoke.
