The "Little Hook" on my BN TMCC Crane car just all of a sudden quit responding to the Up/Down commands.  Everything else on the car seems to work OK.

I've looked inside the car and the spool for the little hook does not move when given an up/down command.  Has anyone else run into this issue or have ideas?

I don't want to start messing with the car if it is something simple.  Sure would hate to mess up all those lines.  Thanks.

What ever you do, do not try to fix this TMCC Crane Car. Read your directions again and

be sure that you are operating this correctly. I sometimes can not get mine to work

and its me, not following the directions right. If this is truly a funtion that has stopped

working, CALL Lionel service in the morning for advice.

My only problem with the TMCC Crane is putting the Outriggers back in. Sometimes

they will not stay in. Its a really fun to operate action car.

Good Luck

I agree with Larry - the problem you report could have one of several root causes, but none can be fixed easily. Normally I'm all for repairing my own equipment but the TMCC crane is a unique animal due to the combination of mechanical and electronic equipment packed into a relatively confined space, and that's before having to worry about the "organized tangle" of rigging cables.

Try resetting the TMCC ID on the unit to see if the problem clears. If not (and you're sure the remote buttons are working properly), send it in.

Mine was not responding to commands once, resetting the ID to another number and back fixed it.

Resetting to the same number DID NOT help !

This car and tender is the reason I have a complete TMCC system. I could not keep track of how to work it with my DCS system (the buttons are different).

I keep the overlay for the Crane taped to the CAB-1.

All my TMCC engines work just fine under DCS/TMCC control.
