Hi guys!
I'm just curious, but does Lionel offer TMCC or Legacy upgrades for their engines? I'm getting a Lionel NYC 6-38368 "Red Lightning" F-3 for my birthday and thought about having it upgraded if possible.

Not Legacy, but you can do a TMCC upgrade. G
You only can use the AC commander from ERR to upgrade. This engine shows AC motors

Thanks Guys! Would I beable to get one of the Railsounds Commander as well? Would they work together?
And the Cruise Commander too?
The Rail sounds will work with the AC Commander and the Cruise Commander.

I was also reading that this engine has double AC Pullmor Motors, would I just wire both motors into the same spot on the AC Commander?
Both motors would be wired to the twp posts on the AC commander, but be sure to reverse the leads on one motor so that both move the locomotive in the same direction. Each brush should also receive a 1μf capacitor (connect one end to the brush and the other end to the motor's ground) to reduce any RF interference generated by the motor.

Also, am I stripping everything else out except the motors or do I have to leave some of the other stuff (computer chips) in?

The motors are reversed facing back to back so the wire need not be crossed as you can see in the pic.
