I'm having problems running TMCC engines through my DCS system. An individual TMCC engine will run fine, but when I put two on the layout, both engines respond as if they had one engine ID. Both engines will start up even if I have one engine specified in the DCS remote.

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be helpful.

As Joe mentioned you have 2 TMCC engines with same the same TMCC Address (ID )

Follow the on screen directions using the dcs edit TMCC address. Don't forget to take one of the engines off the track or you be back where you started. You should get a whistle blast indicating the new TMCC address  "took". Dcs will actiually let you go through the motions but nothing really changes... You need to get the whistle.

Many thanks for all of your replies. I'll test your proposed solutions out tomorrow night when a train buddy comes over. I did have a few more questions.

I don't have a CAB1, just the DCS remote. Does CAB1 have significant advantages in running TMCC engines? And how do I know if the TMCC IDs are different? Is the whistle blast the only way to know if the new TMCC address has taken? (When adding a new engine, I have taken all other engines off the track.)

Thanks again for your responses!

Success! I now have all of my TMCC engines running and responding to commands individually. The one trick I would mention in case anybody else has a similar issue is that you need to change the swtich on the TMCC engine to "Program" in order to edit the TMCC ID. After editing the ID, you need to turn the swtich back to "Run." (The instructions on the DCS remote under "Edit Engine" do mention this step, but they flash by pretty fast.)

Thanks to those who helped put me on the right track with this issue!
