I have a space in my layout that i was thinking of adding an industrial tower crane. I have seen a few diecast ones already from diecastmodels but wanted to know if anyone had added one to their layout. Looking at one from leibherr.
Thanks

This one is 1/50 scale and about 11" tall.
Not a Liebherr, but here are some images of my 1:50 scale Manitowoc Potain tower crane. The actual height is around 5’. So I removed some of the tower sections & use them as load for my flat-bed truck. it also came with a nicely detailed concrete bucket. The threads are spooled through the pulleys to mimic the cables & the load can be raised / lowered & for sliding the trolley towards / away from the tower. I also bought the separate climbing cage used to add or remove tower sections to raise or lower the crane. I plan to add a skyscraper façade to the end of my diorama to go with the crane.
These are just my opinion,

The Potain crane was made by TWH who went out of business a few years ago. I liked TWH since they made highly-detailed, scale models of prototypes we see here in America unlike Conrad, NZG or WSI who mostly focus on models of European prototypes. Like hobbyists who got great deals on K-Line 21” passenger cars when K-Line went out of business, I got great deal on this crane & other TWH models, 3 years ago. Now that the supplies of the remaining TWH models have dwindled, this crane could cost around $500 for the crane & an additional $80 for the climbing cage.
Here is a link to a British site that does reviews of most scale diecast construction / crane / mining models. The link has a listing of all Tower Cranes made. I knew of a Liebherr tower crane similar to my Potain crane but they were made before I got into this hobby & were sold out when I was looking for one after watching the recent James Bond movie, Casino Royale where there was a stunt scene at the beginning of the movie on top of a tower crane in Madagascar.
These are just my opinion,
