Beautiful model. Do you have any prototype photos of these? I don't think I've ever seen one. 

Yes, I have never seen a prototype photo of a traction tankcar, although ones of

box, reefer, gon, and flat are commong.

As I noted, this is an adaption of the original H&S car onto a traction flat.  The H&S water tank cars were quite real and plans for them were in the old Stevens Dollar car articles back in the late '50s; the H&S company still exists in Chicago. 

There were indeed box & reefer trailers, flats & gons or all sorts, and there were even hopper cars for transporting coal.  There were also stock cars and stock car motors.  The array of possibilities in traction is quite diverse!

There were tank cars but almost all that I have seen so far were associated with sprinkler car functions for either weed control or for dust control.

Oh, I do not doubt that there were traction tank cars. I just thought maybe you'd

found a prototype to model, or freelance off of.  I'd like to see a picture of a stock

car motor...would remind me of stock trailer truckers trying to drive fast enough to

keep ahead of the smell, as in the song, "Convoy"?, at least before A/C and better

insulated cabs.

I've got a set of plans for one that THI&E had and those and articles were in Traction & Models many years ago.

And, you can buy a built up shell of one from MTH - that's Midwest Train Hobbies,  in 2 versions, with or w/o the modesty panels.  You need to add all of the details, drives, etc...... 

I've also built one of the stock trailer cars.

Martin...that has got to be one of the most beautiful tank cars I have ever seen.  You are a master modeler sir!!  Breathtaking model!
