Well, you could take the early morning tour of Disney's rail facilities.  I believe you can get the tickets at any of the Disney hotels.  I've heard it's pretty interesting and I would do it if/when I get down there.

 

You might want to ask this question on the main 3 rail forum, a lot more people viewing there.

Thanks for the idea an tip.  I noticed in CTT there's a train shop listed about 20 minutes away - - Colonial Photo and Hobby ("All scales").  Anyone familiar with them?  I also found this - -
