My favorite and probably most people in my age category is the Great Locomotive Chase.. the movie,coupled with Lionel releasing the 1862 & 1872 General sets, was heaven sent for a kid loving trains .. The original "General" with Buster Keaton is also a classic..
I don't care if alot of it is a stretch, "Unstoppable" tops my list, nonstop suspense and action. Great movie if you just sit down and watch it without dissecting it.
Watched "Breakheart Pass" the other week. There's a scene where a caboose & two troop cars run off a siding and tumbled downhill tearing themselves to bits. I was somewhat horrified to learn that is was done with real equipment which was purchased just so that it could be destroyed. Oh well, if you want realism...
