The thunder storms, hail, and damaging winds that have been moving through PA, NY, & NJ for a couple days, now, and the thunderstorms that are overhead (NJ) now and predicted (the Weather Channel) to continue for tonight and tomorrow, possibly, off-and-on. That weather.

suggested the question in my mind, by suggesting the "dicey" aspect possibility ("...may be a bit..."), to try to make an informed decision before travelng a couple hundred miles in inclement weather, taking a chance for ?

We will be long gone before the rain gets there

Thanks, Al, for the helpful info and non-mocking response to my hesitancy. We have been through some serious weather, here in NJ, for several days, and I have no intention of driving through and more of it, into PA and out of PA on a return trip home. Also, Hamburg is such a pleasant place, a town I have often enjoyed walking through when attending that show, so it would be nice to have a sunny day, if possible. However, a potentially stormy drive is not what I'd care to chance. Thanks again, Al.

It's the possibilty of hail that freaks me out, though I must admit, I do drive less, now that I'm retired, giving myself the luxury of being fussy and cautious about traveling. Yes, I do allow thunderstorms to affect my traveling wanderlust, esp.when the wife is aboard and she gets a lttle unsettled.

Apparently, you have your own higher standards. Good for you. Will I be seeing you there in Hamburg?

I wish I had some idea why I am explaining all this to you, sir. I had asked for advice not snottiness nor condescension. What I was seeking was further perspective on the weather, particularly in PA, and perhaps from a few voices with an idea of what was moving in from the west (Ohio, etc.), not a critique of my driving customs.
