train sound wire harness

thanks for this info Terry. I recently built an aftermarket train sound tender and it works well. to finish the build I needed a rear truck and the seller that had it sent it with the lionel sensor and axle magnet in place so the aftermarket kit used a reed switch and it’s own magnet I guess i’ll use this truck get the other parts and build the lionel version

I did find a wire harness that looks like a match to this drawing it is listed as lionel part number 693-6788-T76 if the female molex can fit this would be the right harness and I think it is

Yes, this is the harness I use to install older trainsounds boards. And I use the 693-6788-T55 Bracket.

And I often do not use the volume pot...  I just install a 10k resistor across the pot connection and jumper the center pin to the high side of the pot...  Will always have full volume, but don't have to install a volume control.

thanks for that info Terri. lionel shows about 65 different wire hook ups this should do the job ok. this by lionel is said to go with the train sound tender
