Does anyone know what the original light bulb would have been for this station. I have one with red bulbs, but the bulbs are pointed with some sort of fluting on them. If you know please let me know.

The Lionel numbers were 39 and 40. The GE numbers were 1441 (14 volt) and 1442 (18 volt). Some folks mistakenly think they were Christmas tree bulbs. The bulbs were specifically made for trains.

The lots are not mine, and I have not examined them closely.
The bulbs are also available as reproductions, with several different finishes.
So the bulbs were white and not red. Thank you for the information guys.
If the bulbs were red, it wouldn't have been a train station.
