I added a few items to my collection and TrainMinder prompted me to go out to their server to update my "LikeMinder" profile.  When I attempted to do so, I got a "remote server connection refused" error.  When I re-started TrainMinder it reported an error in the previous session and wanted to connect to their server to report it.  The same connection refused error resulted.  The only way out was to end the process in task manager.  I sent a support request to them and received an automated response.  I spoke with Sarah many months ago about another open ticket and she said that she was unable to get in touch with Steven.  If he cannot support the product, he should stop advertising it in the train publications.  I may be wrong, but I don't believe that he will be at the next York.

Anyone else experiencing this problem with the update of your "LikeMinder" profile?

Thanks

The web server on the the other end of the connection is either temporarily down/inaccessible, or it's been shut down. Given that TrainMinder has largely been on autopilot for a while now, it's anybody's guess. That's why I use web-based "cloud" services cautiously. Never rely totally on them, because one day, there may be nothing on the other end of the connection. Or, if my connection is down, my data is inaccessible if that's the only way to get it.

Wait and see, but if TrainMinder is winding down, web servers cost money and they might have "pulled the plug" at least until they can find a less costly service. Come to think of it, even if they just switched providers for a better value, there are often hiccups in the handoff. If all is well, it should be back in 24 hours or less.
