Anyone familiar with or have first hand experience with the local hobby shop, Trains & Things, in Ewing Township, New Jersey? How is their stock of both new and previously owned items? Asking because although the store's website looks impressive, it has no search feature and hasn't been updated in 18 months.

I go there all the time. They definitely know their stuff, have quite a bit of stuff new and old. Built to order stuff is whatever is ordered by the customers they have that ordered, so if you are looking for something from one of the recent catalogs chances are that it won't be there. They will work with you on trying to find what you are looking for as there has been occasions where they get something people have been looking for(recently the VL Hudson, seen at York). I would say ring them up and ask whatever questions you have about whatever you are looking for. Their hours you should have seen on the page, and it may be best to call for mornings but they are usually there around 6:30 weekdays.
I've been a customer for a good number of years and have not been disappointed.
Great store to deal with. Tony has been around for a number of years. One of the best stocked stores in the area. In today's retail environment, especially with trains and the very slim margins the manufacturers give the stores you can't expect to see the high price engines sitting on shelves unsold.
I have family in the area and have been to the store, it was very well stocked with new and used items that I've not seen anywhere else. Tony was very helpful. I plan on stopping in again when I'm up that way.
I buy almost exclusively from Tony. His daughter and son also work there along with several of his long time friends. And speaking of friends, you feel like one when you leave the store. They are all helpful and courteous! Their place burned down a few years back, and instead of packing it in, they came back even stronger. They have a nice presence at the York convention and attend the Allentown, PA show every year if either of those are more convenient for you.
They are tops for a local train store. Lots of stock. Tony is the best. I buy almost all of my trains there. They are friendly and have great service.
