Those lines run pretty high, I think a bigger concern would be the tornadoes in and around Conroe.  I did some detouring this afternoon returning to Tomball from Conroe and passed the rail lines several times, didn't notice any immediate issues and it appeared trains were moving.  However, the debris form the Tornadoes was bad going 1314 south from 105.

I'm down in Westchase. Went to Sugar Land (supposedly susceptible to flooding from what people have told me) yesterday and the UP/BNSF line past Imperial Sugar looked good. Did see a train in the distance. Sunny with clouds passing through right now, but it's supposed to be partially cloudy tomorrow with another storm passing through Tuesday through Thursday.

I received a customer notification from BNSF Friday advising of two washouts on the Houston sub at Karen and Dobbin, TX.  Both are about 45 - 55 miles northwest of Houston. If memory serves, these two locations are on the former BN line between Houston and Dallas.

With two washouts northwest of Houston, it is entirely likely BNSF could be detouring over UP.

Yes, you did spell Sugar Land correctly.  It is TWO words!  BNSF rights over the Glidden Sub were in place before the 1990's mergers.  ATSF had rights Tower 17 to T&NO Jct years ago.  I remember in the pre Amtrak era the TX CHIEF coming through SL.  Looked like a Lionel train set.  (All low level cars).

Gonna be another week of not-so-good weather in the Houston area.  I hope you folks down there can stay above water and keep the roof on your house.  We followed the FW&D Tecas Zephyr route home from Fort Worth last weekend, in a ring-tailed tooter of a storm.  I had to drive through water on the highway between Estelline and Claude, but the railroad was above water all the way.  They had Track Supervisors in hy-rail pickups preceding each train through that area.  Tornadoes in the Panhandle have been way out in the country so far this month.
