I am running a lot of accessories and bulbs that are maxing out my zw's. Is there a cheaper way to power all the lights and accessories than a conventional toy train transformer? I have changed a lot of them to LED.
I use a computer power supply. Bulbs don't care if the voltage is AC or DC, and the leds only need DC. Most are around 300 watts at 12 volts, and are not very expensive. I bought one used at a computer repair shop for $15. You can probably find an old desktop and get one at the "just right" price.
