TThomas the Train DIY car and lights

I wanted to add to my granddaughter’s train so I picked up a little plastic 4 wheel hopper type car with fixed coupler, Lionel # 8209T-3. Did a paint job using Liquitex Brilliant Blue spray and made a box and coal load for it.

For the passenger cars I installed LED lights and in one car taillights. Batteries were used for flicker-free lighting and ease of installation. I found out from gunrunnerjohn the batteries should last about 30 hours.
