I have eight turnouts on my layout. Lionel only supplies numbers up to six with the turnout controls. I am willing to "flip" the Lionel emblem and use it for seven, but how do you make an eight? Suggestions? Thanks.

Print your own use (Elephant 36)

I'm guessing the Elephant 36 would be the font. However, what printer will print on acetate? I have ink jet printers, not color lasers. Any other way to do this?

Just use a Ink Jet Printer, and plain paper, cut numbers in circles, insert.
Of course, you need the font as it doesn't come with Windows. 
After the download, right click on the font and select Install.

Thanks Folks! After some playing around I managed to figure out what was necessary. The Elephant font was already in my version of paint and after some experimentation I got it to print the correct size. Since I really would like the inserts to be "plastic", I can take the originals printed on paper to Staples and have them make me a transparency. Problem solved.

Brian, you can buy clear mailing labels (Avery 18660) or, if you want something thicker, use transparency slides (Avery 5277). Spray either with a light coat of clear acrylic to protect them.
Like Dan says, you can print transparencies on inkjet or laser printers, I do it all the time.
