Welcome

We'll be operating the 2 rail modular layout again this year at Galesburg Railroad Days, in Galesburg, IL on June 23rd and 24th.  It's the 18th year for the model railroad show during Galesburg Railroad Days.  Come by and talk trains, we'll be running lots of trains! I'll have my BNSF worm train running again this year, hopefully Atlas will deliver the next run of 5161's before showtime in June

Hi Mike,

Trainfest was a lot of fun last year and yes that video is a few of the clips I managed to capture from the weekend... although I did leave my tripod behind somewhere in Rock Island...  Other than it being about the hottest day I can ever remember anywhere ever, it was really a nice event. The weather's looking to be much cooler for the event this year.

Your club's modular layout is very nice, and big too, and I highly recommed checking it out. I wish I was going to be able to make it this time but cannot.

John, Thanks for bringing your fleet of Santa Fe units!  It really made for an awesome double stack train!   Yeah, at least we are inside for Galesburg Railroad Days this weekend.  Come by and see us in the library!

The 4 locos on the point are John Hoertel's beauties and are OMI units.  The DPU unit is a powered Atlas SD40.  Although I don't recall BNSF having outfitted an SD40 for DPU service, it was the only loco I had at the time.

Yes, I would hate to tally up the price of that train considering the four locos up front were brass!
