Group,

I purchased a collection last weekend, and it included some 3-Rail O Gauge Track (Black) that I hadn't see before (I use mostly Lionel).  Its black, and the pins are shaped more like a needle and the end.....any idea who makes it?  Did not see any markings on it.

Well the pins look Homemade from Nails

the track could be either pinted black OR colored Gun Blue.

I am not aware of ANY 3 Rail mfg that blackened the outer rails.

Judging by the tie stamping it appears to be of recent vintage.

Maybe K-line 1990's or Williams tinplate.

Are there ANY markings on the underside of the ties? Could you take a picture of that as well?

It's American Flyer track, made right after WWII when "strategic" metals were still in very short supply, so Gilbert blackened the rails rather than plating them. The ties are clearly AF ties, and the pointed pins are standard AF pins (not nails). I have some of this track, as well as the usual AF "silver" track. Gilbert continued to produce O gauge track very briefly after the war; I'm not a Flyer expert at all, but I've gathered that they may or may not have made a few O trains before the switch over to S. (Others can expand or correct this.)
