Steve B, owner of Ross Custom Switches, came through like gangbusters when my #8 throw bar broke.
I had already ordered a #8 RossReady switch to replace one purchased in 2003.
When I emailed Steve to request that he add a couple of replacement throw bars to the order he replied, "Around the year 2000 the lead laws in the U. S. changed. Unbeknownst to us the soldering flux we had used for 25 years or more changed formulation. It became so aggressive that it eats the delrin throw bars in some cases. Of course it took a few years to show up so we weren't aware of the problem for some time. We can send you the parts to fix them (free) or you can send us the switches. We do not charge to fix them but since Jan 2015 we do charge return shipping which is the actual UPS charge. While there is no secret to fixing them, they are difficult to fix if you can't pick the switch up. Simply keep the pin from falling out of the hoe in the throw bar by putting something under the pin and solder the pin to the moveable point. Make sure the pin is slightly loose. Sorry for the trouble!"
Now that's Service Above and Beyond! It's easier for me to fix with his parts than pack it for shipping.
