Greetings lads, it's been awhile...

Most of my collection was sold, but my neighbor talked into keeping a few... he thought I'd regret getting rid of everything. So I kept eleven locomotives, but ended up throwing one in the garbage, due to a jammed truck.

It was sort-of hard to pick what got sold, because they were all chosen, at an earlier point in time.

Some of my best went, because I thought they would be easier to sell.

Ended up accidentally breaking my TIU, and threw it in the garbage; found out later, it might have just needed a fuse replaced. Doing the conventional thing, until the new DCS replacement arrives.

One of my favorite O gauge units, years ago, was a MTH Premier SD70ACe, wearing one of the GM DEMO(all white face) liveries. So, when I went looking for a TIU replacement, I end up in a, mostly, HO shop; and, while I was looking around, checking out the shop's MTH equipment, I see GM73; fully loaded(DCS and DCC).

I started to get the shakes, beads of sweat stung my eyes... I had to get it; and, I did!

So, even though the pilot area is blue, and not white, like GM70(this HO unit is GM73); and I just recently unloaded most of my collection; and I thought I was done(except for the few I kept); now, I've got "ONE" HO engine... no rolling stock or track... just 73!

Yes, the new DCS system(I ordered the complete system) should be able to run my remaining O, and the HO 73.

At first, I was just thinking about looking at 73, on a shelf or something...BUT, I might have to get me a Kato 8'x5' oval package(you know, just in case); maybe, a few cars, too...

I forgot to mention "MAC's"...

One of my ten remaining O gauge locomotives, is a Premier, executive scheme, SD70MAC(9812). It's a MTH hi-rail/3-rail unit, cab number 9812.

Besides, white faced, GM DEMO units- MAC's(SD70, 80, 9043 and 90 - with realistic looking pilots, etc.) have been absent, from MTH's Premier line. So has SD75I's...

Apparently, not so in half O; saw many HO versions, on shelves directly under the MTH HO equipment, I was looking at.

I'm not sure if MTH offers MAC's and SD75I's, though. I'd need another operating system, if I went with one of the other HO manufacturers.

BTW, I asked my regular dealer to order me the latest version of DCS(I think that is 4.30). I mentioned that I recently read, online, that 4.30 had some issues; and that, some customers were reverting back, to the earlier 4.20 version of DCS.

It was nice to see all the variety, available, in the smaller scales.

O scale/gauge has an advantage over the smaller scale, and it's significant:"add-on detail(s)". You'd need magnification, to be able to see similar fine detail, in the smaller scales.

Given the choice, and if space wasn't an issue, I'd say O scale is visually superior, more remarkable and pleasing. The smaller scales don't compare...

In this case, size not only matters, it trumps the smaller scales; just like the prototypes do, re: models...
