This is an impressive concept. The video says that the engine will only be used as a yard switcher. I wonder if it can be developed to use as a road unit.
Union Pacific is using the same method that I am using on my battery powered engines. The battery is one unit and the other has the remote control electronics and engines. This is the prototype copying the model. NH Joe
I still wish GE had published some info about the Hybrid test. Obviously it didn't meet goals, but I'd like to know what it was capable of. I'm sure that info is considered a corporate secret though.
