For some reason one of my PS2 diesels was very slow to respond today, even after powering down the layout and repowering everything back up again.

I then decided to delete the offending engine and readd it again.

It was originally in address 7, but re added to address 19.

Address 7 still exists but remains blank and I can't access it.

Both the remote and the TIU are upgraded to 5.0.

Engine IDs stick with the engine (unless factory reset ,Edited, or the ID is taken with another engine when adding)

So deleting the engine just removed it from the remote but didn't change the  engines ID number .It should have added back at ID 7 since the ID was available on the remote.

Not sure what's going on? Did you use a programming track with no other engine receiving power?

Delete engine  ID 7 from the remote. (if it's still there) Now you should be able to    edit the address of Engine 19 to  ID 7 if you want it there.

I think I'm wasting my time here..

Again, I always appreciate your replies that help. I try and read all the posts that get posted on this forum heading. I have learned many things with your help.

I will second Engineer-Joe's comment here. I try to read all the electronics related threads I can and I usually learn something from all the posts and comments. So some of us out here appreciate ALL the comments from everyone! I still have a lot to learn about all of this stuff.
