I read a recommendation by a forum member for the color and make of paint to use in painting the wheel covers of the tender and trailing trucks of the 844, but could not relocate it several days later. Please tell me your recommendation. ...I think you said "aluminum" could be replicated.

I have been using Scalecoat "aluminum".
I use those neat paint marker pens. If you are careful, you can paint driver rims with them too.

you can also USE TESTORS ALUM paint.. the ones in the small bottle you can brush is on.. 99 out 100 bet back then they brushed that color on those wheel covers..
