Upgrading the Lionel Three Rivers "Pittsburgh Region" caboose #6-36653 - Built date 2010
This model is a very nicely detailed modern version of the classic Lionel "porthole" caboose. The lettering on the car is road number 477939. It is designated as Pittsburgh Region. The caboose features plastic trucks and lighted interior. The body features full rivet detail including the rivet strip under the portholes. The car is missing a roof top smoke jack.
Modifications:
Model 6-36659 is another Lionel Three Rivers caboose that has sprung trucks and underbody detail. Since these caboose models have identical caboose bodies they can easily be swapped to result in a more detailed caboose model. Both caboose models attach using 4 small screws.
The result is shown which also includes a "conductor" sitting in the cupola area.
Photos are attached showing the before and after caboose models. The "new" Lionel model is now designated as model 6-36653/59 since it uses parts from both models.
