Hello Train World, I'll soon be converting a moderate size layout from TMCC to Legacy. But I've kinda been out of the loop as to whats new, good, bad or otherwise. Would appreciate comments on this topic, helpful hints, things to avoid, what is available, and so forth. Thanks for your info in advance: BWH

In all likelihood you won't have to do anything at all. The Legacy set includes a cable to connect to your CAB1 base so you can use them side by side. I'm sure others will chime in with more suggestions.

do you have a legacy system? if not if you do not want any issues make sure you get one of the later versions.
for helpful hints read this thread
The biggest thing to worry about is make sure you remove the TMCC wire from the old base and move it the new base. If you want to still use both bases then use the included cable, but the wire must go the the Legacy Base
Any of the bases with Legacy version 1.2 or higher can easily be upgraded, just make sure to purchase a black module when you get the base (or wait for John to chime in) and verify you have a serial com port on your PC or purchase a USB to serial adapter
