I thought I would take a minute to pass along my exceptional experience with USA Track. After fighting with my Christmas layout and the track I had been using for years, I was not looking forward to the frustration of using it again this year. I am frequently visiting and sometimes posting on this forum and had seen a couple of post in the last few months concerning USA Track LLC and their products. I placed an order with them mid day last Sunday and was very surprised to have gotten an Email reply from Kirk at 11:30 PM that evening. He replied that he had all the pieces in stock that I needed to redo my Christmas layout and to my surprise he stated that he could also custom cut the specialty pieces that I needed. He informed me that the order would ship on Tuesday along with an Emailed invoice. My Standard gauge track arrived on Friday, and I must say this track is by far the best made track I have worked with. The pieces join in a very tight fit (with the help of a pair of heavy duty rubber gloves). The ends of all the rails were smooth which made all the connections even with no jagged or uneven edges. It's nice to finally find good quality and good prices along with very good service, which is becoming rare in this day and age. All future need on my Standard gauge layouts will definitely be supplied by Kirk at USA Track.

We never had it so good in Standard Gauge. Kirk has a quality track product with multiple track radius. Ross makes quality switches in 2 sizes. MTH makes reproduction trains that run extremely well. We just need Ross to make 45 and 22.5 crossovers.

If the market would only grow we could see new product designs hitting the market.

I'm doing my part!!!  I'm very new to the Standard Gauge ranks, and loving every minute of it.    Although I'm never at a loss of questions at this stage.

You mentioned you'd like to see Ross make 45 and 22.5 crossovers.  Do they already make a 90?  The only 90 I'm aware of right now is from MTH.

Also, does USA Track LLC provide custom curves larger than their 87?

Thanks!!!

Jim, I was thinking the same thing. We have a trifecta of very high quality coming together at one time.  Some years from now, the time period we are in now may be looked back on as the second golden age of Standard Gauge.

Many, many thanks for all the kind comments about USA Track (www.StandardGaugeTrack.com).  Chris and I are dedicated to providing the best quality track you can buy, identical in construction to the track made by Lionel 100 years ago.  Every component is made in the traditional fashion, including black oxide finished heavy gauge steel ties, tin plated steel rails, nickel plated steel track pins and robust fiber insulators.  And every bit is made in the USA!

We provide the rails to Ross Custom Switches for their Standard Gauge switches, so they match our track exactly.  You can't get better switches at any price.  The "72" switches are a drop in replacement for the MTH 72 switch, and the #4 switches are perfect for crossovers between tracks on 7.25 inch centers (the spacing of our 42-57-72 and 87 curves).  Highly recommended!

The cost of tooling is an issue, but we will continue to offer new products like wider radius curves when we can.

Thanks,

Kirk

Kirk's and Chris's track is the best!

One unique product you can special order from USA Track is called "SGMA" track.  I've order it in straight sections up to 48" in length and in curved track sections of 42, 57, 72, 84 and 87 curves.  Unlike USA's "normal" Standard Gauge track where the spacing of black ties across track joints are bunched together, SGMA track is designed so that the spacing between ties remains constant down the length of track sections and across the their joints.
