Just came in the mail to link my older TIU( Vers. I) to the WIU box. What is the small CD that came with it for (no instructions)? MY computer knowledge isn't much beyond turn off/on and using a mouse. Thanks.

Insert the cd, let it initiate, run the software. The purpose is to configure ONE USB port to serial port. Install the serial cable before you run the CD.
Once configured, it will initiate that port to a serial port every time you insert that cable.

If you purchased this to use with the soon to be released WIU, then you won't need the CD at all. From the user guide for the WIU, you should just connect the cable between the TIU and WIU and be good to go. Once the WIU actually start arriving, we will know if it really is that simple.
Thank you. That makes more sense to me as it will only used between the TIU and the WIU.
If your computer doesn't have a serial port, you should go ahead and plug the unit into your computer and install the drivers. Down the road, you'll need it update your TIU and remote to version 5.00 of the software.
Good info, thanks.
Well, plug it into the computer usb port and see if it finds drivers first, if you are going to use it from the computer.
If no, it will prompt you to supply the disk.
