I was cleaning the chimney for my wood burner in my garage and ended up with a pile of creosote on the floor. I accidently stepped on a piece causing it to crumble, It looked just like coal. I scraped up the pile from the floor and placed it in a glass jar and used a piece of dowel rod to pulverize it. It makes pretty convincing coal.
Has anyone used creosote for coal? Is it safe healthwise? I know it is flamable, but, so are many of the other scenery products we use for our layouts. Let me know your thoughts.
