I have yet to set up my Wi-Fi interface unit and was wondering if the device paired with it will still be capable of sound transmissions? I like to install Blue tooth sound receivers into my rolling stock and transmit train sounds that I have personally recorded or sounds from my train sounds app, also Railroad music and Polar Express sound tracks. I do know Bachmann's Bluetooth control app will transmit engine sounds within the command transmissions, but MTH commands don't contain sound. Has anyone tried this? I may have to use a second device for my sounds.

Another fun Bluetooth sound project, is transmitting the engine sounds to a hi wattage stereo system by jumping wires off of the engines speaker to a 3.5 mm female jack, creating a place to plug in a Bluetooth transmitter, then sending your engine sounds to a paired receiver at the stereo system. What a rush when it sounds like a real train is going to come out of your mountain on the layout. Just make sure the wife isn't home when you do it. The only thing I worry about though, will I have Bluetooth signals crossing  and cause lose of control using the interface unit?

gutted and modified connected to a GP35 ps3 host engine...sounds make there way back to a powered subwoofer..complete game changer.

Willygee. How far will that FM transmitter transmit ? My Bluetooth transmitter is much small but will only transmit about 50'. I was always under the impression the FM's were to be used in a vehicle where the car antenna is only a few feet away. If they go the distance, that's one less Bluetooth signal bouncing around the room.

Barry, Can the iphone transmit more then one signal at a time or do you have to switch back and forth between receiving devices ? I know originally it was one at a time, but maybe by now there has been advances in the technology.

Handles my 26 ft X 9ft very well. I was going to try 800 or 900mhz but this inexpensive route has been working very well..3 years now.

My experience w/ bluetooth is streaming music from my LGG3 smart phone(protocol 4.0) to a mobile bluetooth speaker...ideal conditions maybe 50' but typically breaks up if blocking objects present.

It can definite;y communicate with multiple Bluetooth devices at the same time, i.e., my Apple Watch, Bluetooth headphones or my car's audio system, and my land-line telephone base station. However, it can't do certain things, such as playing different audio streams through multiple devices simultaneously.
