We came across this interesting book amid some stuff we were selling for the wife of a guy who passed away. He was into HO but had a lot of books and paper items (like stock certificates) and memorabilia. I looked at it more closely this evening and took some photos of the advertising inside. Say's it is "the Handbook and Program of the National Convention of Railroad Commissioners, Denver Co. 1899.
"The program and proceedings of the eleventh annual convention, with reports of committees. A synopsis or the railroad laws and rules of practice of the Interstate Commerce Commission and all state Railroad Commissions, together with half tone portraits of railroad commissioners and secretaries."
The hardcover is detached from the binding but otherwise the paper and illustrations are in great condition. The binding itself is strong. Even has a few maps and routes of several roads (including the ever-popular Milwaukee Road)
I don't have the space for any more books and lately not much time to read so after a quick perusal and taking some better photos of the advertising we will probably put it out to auction. Any idea what a piece like this might bring?
